  1. Day 1

    Srirangapatna

    Break the drive at the island town on the Kaveri.

    • Srirangapatna is a river island enclosed by the Kaveri and was the capital of Mysore under Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan.[3]
    • The town takes its name from the Ranganathaswamy Temple.[3]

    Mysore Palace

    Continue about 15 km to Mysuru and spend the afternoon at the palace.

    • Mysore Palace was the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore.[4]
    • Srirangapatna is about 15 km from Mysuru.[3]

  2. Day 2

    Chamundi Hills and return to Bengaluru

    Drive up Chamundi Hills in the morning, then return to Bengaluru.

    • The Chamundeshwari Temple sits atop Chamundi Hills, about 13 km east of Mysuru.[5]
    • About halfway up stands a Nandi statue carved from a single piece of black granite.[5]
